Almost thought this serendipitous listing on olx had ended my search today, but unfortunately it's a V8 and not a 200tdi

Best 4x4xfar in the Uk, we had so many good memories, drive my 1993 model from London to south France as far as the border with Spain, without Aircon

I know , I know...... was driving it in the bush this last week..... It's SO good.

Maybe i should just raise it and put big tires and keep it as a lazy mans game viewer.

Hi, I recently found this 200Tdi on Gumtree. I bought it for R35k from a farmer outside Piketberg. It needed quite a bit of attention and I spent a further R35k (approx.) on it. The following was done: cut out rust above front windscreen and weld in plate to fix water ingress; new starter motor, fit new gear selector springs, new steering damper, fix headlight wiring. On gearbox: fit new synchro rings, intermediate shaft O-rings, baulk rings, main shaft and input gear. I also replaced the panel containing the window-winding switches on the center console (between the front seats) with a hand made solution which, if I may say, pleases my eye.

I love the 200Tdi's simplicity, fuel consumption and engine sound. It sounds like a real diesel engine. And smells like one too.
