    Default Our new vehicle...

    Hey Guys...

    So it is time for a new season for us...here is our new ministry vehicle...

    Will update as we journey through kitting her out...

    Currently as she stands:

    2018 Dakar edition 4x4 auto
    - 60 000km
    - service plan
    - warranty
    - dual battery system
    -long range tank

    What is in the immediate (next month or so) pipeline:

    - Aluminium canopy (brand: Kanopi)
    - being built to our specs and needs

    - Bin slider (also custom from Kanopi)

    - Stone Hill seat covers (Megaworld Centurion)

    - Snorkel (Chaos Customs)

    - Front strut spacers (Megaworld Centurion)

    - Extra blade in existing leaf packs REAR (Megaworld Centurion)

    - Remove CAT (self?)

    - BFG KO2 A/T x 4 (265/60 18) - current tyres up for sale

    ...and then fitting all my kit I removed from previous vehicle:

    All done by Megaworld Centurion...

    - Hard Kor 7" Spots
    - Lumeno 7" work light
    - ARB compressor
    - Hi-Lift jack
    - Spade
    - Solar Panels and solar charging system
    - Wiring etc for NL battery box with inverter for charging our audio visual equipment for outreaches in Africa

    Enjoy Trevor. One good thing is the Hilux almost give double the km/l than the Cruiser.

    Did you downgrade from the Cruiser bakkie?
    Malcolm van Coller - retired 2013 but remained in Johannesburg (maybe will look at moving south, Robertson or Wellington type of town, once the wife retires)

    Think I saw the cruiser at a carwash behind spar in Rietfontein. Was it yours?

    Yeah it might have been as we traded it in on the hilux at Car Guys in Gezina...

    My son owns a 2.8 GD6 for more than a year now. Biggest surprise for me were consumption. He get up to 12km/l @120. Have done quite a few 4x4 trips with it and I were impressed with its capabilities. I will follow this thread with the greatest of interest.

    Very nice Hilux Trevor. Just a question - why do you want to remove the CAT? The kilometres are still very low and if you are travelling long distances then you shouldn't pick up any issues with a blocked CAT. Just my 2 cents worth...
