    Angola yes, but not just above the Doodsakker or the town of Namibe. Close but no cherry yet.

    Pictured are only a fraction of the abandoned ships rusting away. Perhaps an estimated edit 30-50 altogether......maybe.

    OK give it to AfriqueDS as Luanda. Actually in more or less the same bay but estimated to be about 10-20km north of the city at S08 40,867 E13 24,935, the locals told us it was called Praia da Santiago or Praia do Sarico. Expats apparently refer to as Shipwreck Beach. Some of the wrecks have salvagers on board cutting some of the metal sheeting for sale as scrap metal.

    Apparently the ships were towed north from the harbor at Luanda and beached, over a period of some years. Only a portion of these were "sabotaged" ships from the Angolan war. I am sure there must be plenty of tales still to be told.
