I used the Co-op's weigh bridge.

So for fun, I was calculating some of the main accessories weight that's on my vehicle ..... and found that I am within +-100kg of GVM...that is excluding extra fuel, high lift jack and few others bits and pieces here and there.
So my question is that if I go to a weigh bridge to check the exact weight I am carrying, and if I am over GVM, will the weigh bridge allow me to drive further or at least to drive home to shed weight, or do I need to shed weight right then and there ?... or is it just a simple matter of finding out the weight of the vehicle ?...obviously with a few rands exchanging hands...talking of which...
...What does it cost to weigh the vehicle at a weigh bridge ?
Which/ Where are there weigh bridges in Jhb area where I can do this ?
I used the Co-op's weigh bridge.

Co-op- farmer's co-operative. Not many in JHB.
Find a large scrap metal dealer. They also have weighbridges.

Some independent testing stations allow you to weigh your vehicle or rig for a fee. They don't have the authority to fine you or prevent you from leaving if overloaded. I know of one next to the N1 at Samrand off ramp in Midrand

I was also doing a calculation. I always try to reduce the weight even if I could in theory reach 3,5T Diesel and fridge system are the heaviest with 170 kilos and 50 kilos approx.
