Default Nissan Np 300 tour vehicle

Looking for a little advice. We are in the fortunate position to have a little cash to spend on a 4X4 SIngle cab. Plan is to tour now and then , sleep in the back ( dont like tents ) space saver canopy and have a little fridge also in the back. The best deal for me so far looks like the Nissan NP300 4X4 diesel Bakkie. Double cab not my idea i had one. The 2.4 Petrol 4x4 is also an option. What is your thoughts about the vehicle and is diesel really that lighter on fuel ? Petrol have a advantage of lesser services

Buy the 2.5 diesel NP300. The 2.4 petrol is gutless thirsty pig.

The fuel cost between the petrol vs diesel against the cost varience of the vehicle means you need to cover 120000kms to make up the difference. However the diesel is worth this everytime you drive it. It's an old vehicle so you need to remember this. Ride on torsion bars is not great.. The 2.4 has a lsd so check this on the diesel

Nice for deliveries but I don't understand who does 4x4 deliveries. Eskom and Telkom don't buy them.

I'd do the sums, the 2.4 uses double the fuel

2.4 is baie ligter gebou as 2.5.
2.4 is 1.5 maal swaarder as 2.5 op brandstof

Op my grm van 30 000km per jaar per voertuig, kos diesel R30600 per jaar.
    Petrol R56000.

    get the diesel.

its an old tech very reliable motor.

agree with the sentiments on the 2.4 petrol.. its thirsty and no performance to justify that thirst.

We get 8 out of a 2.4 4x4 single cab. This is fitted with a canopy and a contractors rack and runs a load of approx 600kg at all times

I'm sorry but I would say 7 if you're lucky, 8 is not believable.

Ek kry ook tussen 7 en 8 op 2.4z maar tussen 11 en 12 op 2.5.

En diesel kos meer as R2 goedkoper per liter.

Exclamation Re: Nissan Np 300 tour vehicle

The single cab NP300 comes with 15 inc rins and 215 SRl15 tyres. In my opinion they are too small (overall diameter and thus ground clearance).

The double cab comes with 16 inch rims and 245/70 SR 16 tyres, giving it at least an inch more clearance.

That extra inch makes the world of difference on dirt roads ond on Offroad trails.

Ask them to upgrade to 16 inch rims and tyres or buy the DC model, or buy five 16 inch rims and tyres yourself and have them fitted.

The SC NP300 tyre diameter is 725.0mm

The DC NP300 tyre diameter is 749.40mm
