Default Caledon and Surrounds - Interesting Accommodation?

My wife and I have been invited to a thing in Caledon, we're thinking of taking a trip down there, maybe visit my pal in Paarl, then Gansbaai maybe for a night, and then Caledon ........ nice breakaway. She also has a pal in Hermanus, so yes - we're looking at a sort of laid back trip down there and back.

I'm told there's a nice place in/near Riviersonderend, ”ewersig or something?? Or other nice places near there??

Nice "rustic" accommodation, maybe maybe even camping, would actually be GREAT to pack the Oztent and sort of just go with the flow and pitch wherever and whenever we feel like it....been a LONG time since we did it.

Nice routes/passes , gravel travel, recommended routes around there would be GREAT.

    Any 1st hand info??

    THANKS

Oewersight is stunning. Baie baie nice.
Champagne ook baie nice. Hulle so 2km van my af.

Hermanus is nader aan caledon as Oewersight, champagne is selfde afstand as hermanus.

Greyton is so 50km van Caledon af.

(Dis nou te sÍ as 'n man al 'n biertjie mag koop wanneer julle kom )

AfriCamps (5km buite Stanford) is 'n opsie as mamma lus is vir "glamping".

The village that time forgot" genoem nie.

Paarl - Franschoek - Villiersdorp - Caledon - Hermanus. Of

Paarl - Gordonsbaai - Rooiels - Bettiesbaai - Kleinmond - Hermanus.

Book a lunch @ Gabrielskloof wine farm (right off the rest of the day). Not sure if it is only a Sunday thing but worth investigating.

Petri, jy noem Gansbaai. Sal enige tyd weer daar bly vir 'n paar dae. Baie stil buite skool vakansies.

Then from Gansbaai you can drive through Baardskeerdersbos and Elim. Then Bredasdorp and drive the road to Malgas.Go over the Pont to Witsand for lunch. Then on to Stilbaai on the gravel road. From there to the N2 and head homewards.
The road from Uitkraalmond to Bredasdorp is a newish tar road.Very very nice scenic drive and you might find 2 other vehicles on the road.Lots of Proteas on side of road.
Oh and the Black Oystercatcher Restaurant is also on this route.VERY nice.

While you down that neck of the woods, snip off a couple of hours, and go check this place out, not far off the beaten track. If i know when you coming down, I could be tempted to guide a bit.... and tan a cow afterwards....(mmm this trip of yours getting long in the planning stage already )
