    Hi Graham.

Maybe also post this in the Land Rover section.
What engine did you think of putting in the series?

    Horsepower - that's a long answer:

I am loosely planning on buying a old Disco and fitting engine gearbox transfer case prop shafts and axels onto the Series chassis, ie complete running gear
(I'll weld on leaf spring tabs and cut off the coil spring attachment bits.

I keep yo-yoing between 3.9efi and a 300tdi (cant find a 200tdi disco) but will use a short defender bell housing.

    Whilst browsing for disco's Ive started thinking if a 3.9, why not a 4.6 v8 from a P38 Rangy?

I want to retain the look and feel of the Series maintaining its integrity, (in order to rebuild it as a classic with its 2.25 engine and gearbox) whilst adding "modern" manners for extended trips - Ultimately guiding from it in Kruger and Kgalagadi
    Thats the dream!

Question Re: Hello ! New to forum long time lurker

You can also consider fitting the SERIES 1 B ody to a disco chassis a lot less work. The chassis will need to be shortened.

    Hi Graham.

Iíve stretched a Rangy to 109 and shortened one to 88....
Same chassis as a Disco 1.
I have a shop in Killarney Gardens, give me a shout if you wanna talk or bounce ideas
