    Default KB 280 injector pump

Howdy. Have noticed my injector pump drips diesel, this is not good, because diesel is expensive. I want to remove the little door that is leaking and replace the gasket, but was just wondering, if anyone knows, what secrets lay behind the door, once off, will i be attacked by springs and washers?

Yep. I'd back off those two machine screws VERY slowly and see if anything wants to jump out.

That's where you check timing marks. You will not harm anything by removing that cover. Nothing will fall out. You will have to bleed the pump after repair. Do not use silicon on there. The diesel will disolve it. Try tightening the 2 bolts first. Sometimes they are a bit loose.

Yes, that's what I would try first as well.

Yep, did try and tighten, they are tiny little bolts so don't want to try too much, just in case I turn them off.

The question is where are you gonna get an O-ring during lock-down? Do you have gasket paper?

You can temp patch with a light coating of Victor Reinz. But use those green o-rings. Lot more stable

So, took the plunge, bought a few O rings and took the plate off, no bits came flying out. Took the old one, which was flat and used a bigger O ring and cut it to size, glued it and put back. Tightened up, test drive and leak is missing like a president. Bought 3 O rings at 30 cents each.... for practice. But got it right first time.
