Default roll in unit to convert bakkie into a camper

My vehicle is a Toyota 2020 Hilux Legend 50 double cab 4x4.
    I have an Alu-Cab canopy.
When in town, I need the bakkie to be empty.
So I am looking for unit that I can simply roll in to convert the bakkie into a camper when I want to go outdoors. And then simply roll out when back in town
Any suggestions on where to get one?
    Thanks in advance

Some great options out there, from full custom to ready made.

To the OP, maybe you should just clarify exactly what you want, to me it reads like you are looking for something that slides perfectly into your loadbay, with the canopy still on Your words read "slide in and slide out" rather than "on or off"?

Are you looking for a drawer system on steroids, that can be accessed from all 3 doors of your canopy? With Roof top tent?

Or are you going to remove the canopy?

This will make all the difference in the advice given.

    Cheers

OK, that would need some custom work. Do we assume a roof top tent, or do you want to sleep inside?

To be honest I have not seen that kinda thing ready made, might be wrong.

    Custom.

Most of the camper builders would be able to help I would think.

Google ABBA, Blinkgat,Palomino,North Star,AHA15 and Obiqua.

Not what he wants. He wants a removable SLIDE IN camper.

I recently used an Obiqua slide on camper for a weekend. What a fantastic hassle free weekend i had. Getting to my destination was a breeze due to the low profile design of the Obiqua and the fact that the Obiqua weighs just over 400 Kg fully loaded up.
I was able to comfortably travel at the speed limit and my vehicles handling was not compromised.
Setting up was quick and easy evan for a novice and revealed and amazing amount of space and features. The setup took us less than 5 minutes.
I drive a Hilux D/C 4x4 Auto 2.4 GD6 and drove from Cape Town to just North of Citrusdal.

Do you really need the canopy during the week or can you do without it?
My thinking here is to sell the canopy and buy a camper, then you have a empty bakkie during the week and put on the camper when you want to camp.

Trying to make a plan around the canopy will result in big compromises in my opinion, firstly I don't see how you'll be able to sleep inside. And if you go to the top, roof top tent or something, then converting from bakkie to camper each time will be a heck of a mission.

There are plenty solutions out there for slide on campers, but then you'll have to skip the canopy, or switch between the canopy and camper if you really need a canopy during the week.

I don't see how you can build a camper solution around a canopy which will give you a relatively quick and easy conversion from every day bakkie to camping bakkie.
It's in pubs where the world's greatest ideas begin.

    Hi
Have a Look at All In 4x4

They make an Australian design flat bed with a Lift offcanopy custom made as you want it
The have a camper unit as well, when it is lifted off theflatbed you just put on their drop sides and you have a bakkie again,

They are currently busy with a design for my 200seriescruiser that will be converted into a bakkie with their camper unit on

I like this response. Good points made. I'd just take the canopy off using a pulley system and drop the slide on camper onto the back.
