Default Question to plumbers in forum

I have run out of lekker jobs to do - just can not sit still ....

My cold water tap in the shower only turns about a quarter of a turn - this makes showering quite an experience . The hit water works perfectly , but cold water tap only allows a small amount of water through.

Two seperate taps - hot and cold .

How do I fix this ?

    Thanks

Switch off the water to the house. Open one hot and one cold tap. If water keeps running you have more issues. Remove the internal of the cold tap. If you would have taken picture would be easier. Try to see what is causing the issue. If you do not find buy new internal. When putting back make sure tap is in open position so that you do not damage the seal and/or seat.

Close all taps and turn on water. Take air out by opening taps.

To give more details - picture required.

Some shops are open for emergency plumbing issues. I just received e mail from Builders to that effect.

Thank you for the response - I will attempt to get to the internals .

itís not leaking through - just does not want to open all the way .

I will jump in my speedo and open up the internals.

I had that issue once before. The part that closes/open the water passage doesn't turn all the way. You need to take the tap apart and reset that part so that it moves fully in the direction you turn the handle.

Difficult to describe, but you will see what I mean when you open it up.

Checked my taps this morning ,and found two faulty ones. Took them apart and cleaned them. A bit of rubber grease on the O-rings and they open fully again.
