Next step is to modify the hole slightly, like so.

Then drill a hole in the one end

    And tap said hole.

    With a nice fine 8 X .75 thread

A quick pass through the sand blaster

And then through the blackening bath.

Almost done. Now I just have the make the appropriate 8 X .75 screw and we will be done.

I still cant figure it out but I could use it as a jig to drill holes in a tube at different degrees. What is it.?

    Yes, a Rose-Index it is!

I do not have a dividing head, so had to get resourceful in cutting the shapes. Will post the process when I do the smaller one.

Will be keen to see the process. Yes its useful to have a rotary table. Something you might use once in a blue moon as a hobbiest.

Made the screw this weekend. Turning the thread.

Put a brass face on the one end and a brass thumbwheel on the other. The face is just locktighted into a hole in the end of the screw.

    And the job done!
