    Default Small fridge on timer?

I got an old Dometic 16 cdf fridge, 12V only, decided to run non stop, its a freezer now. I tried to have it repaired, the first place told me they're not able to get parts, the second place stuffed it up that can even switch it off on the fridge. Still running non stop.

I just use the fridge in the office for cold water etc, and its connect to 12V supply.

What will be the effects be, if any, if running through a timer to switch it on and off to control the temperature?

Buy one of these and you can get it to control the power supply and hence the temp:

    https://www.takealot.com/stc-1000-di...E&gclsrc=aw.ds

Basically, you set a max and min temp and the controller will switch the fridge on or off as desired based on input from the temp probe.

We use it for brewing fermentation temp control.

Read on Page 3, and check if the emergency override has not been switched. This setting overrides all controls and temp settings and keep the fridge running all the time.

    No, its on normal use.

I bought one of those 3 point plug mechanical timers. Must now just get the timing more or less right.
