    Default Jurgens Penta Geyser

    Hi.

Just bought a Jurgens Penta for the normal easy weekends away with the kids. Intent is to keep the trailer for our offroad trips and use the Penta for the odd long weekend in the more commercial type of holiday spots that the 2 boys like at this stage.

The Jurgens I bought has a tank, pump and taps but no hot water. I want to install a small +-10l 220v geyser in the caravan to do some dishes and so on. SWAMBO got used to the warm water on our Summit and has now become a “minimum” .

Would these Kwikot under-counter geysers work? The Hansen caravan geyser is close to R6k and these Kwikot ones R2k.

Obviously the van wont go offroad, shaking or any of the rough stuff. It just for tar and easy going and cant seem to find any reason why the Kwikot unit wont work.

Il panel out the detail of the where and taps and so on based on the newer models that has a factory geyser installed.

The Kwikot can work with zero KPA rating according to its spec.

Anyone else tried this or has this installed?

I see no reason for it not to work. You will not have hot water unless you have a 220V connection ....it is going in a Penta and you will be at an aventura type of plat caravan park. No issue.

My advice is to install it as close to the point of demand so that you don't waste how many liters of water to get the hot stuff to the tap.

At 1500 W it will draw about 6A @ 220V so it will not play too much havoc with a 10A camp supply and if tripping becomes a problem you can always fit a load relay to cut out the fridge for the time it takes to heat up.

Make sure that you have its own 10A breaker and feed it with at least 1.5mm cabtyre that is properly secured, remember safety is no accident

One important point this unit is not a pressure geyser meaning the cold water going to the geyser is the on / off control and the hot outlet is never closed off.

    Good luck
