    Default Baguette

    Howsit!

So I decided to try bake some baguette after watching some French people stuffing themselves.

They came out more ciabata then baguette. Definitely too dense and a little heavy.

Use white bread flour and instant yeast.

I was baking at 200 degrees C with a water pan underneath. They definitely lack that crispy baguette/bahn mi finish.

Im guessing the oven wasn't hot enough?

Not an expert and hope Emmie will pop by to let us know her thoughts.

One reason is it might not have risen sufficiently as Baguettes usually have quite a bit of air in them.

I tried to make homemade ginger beer the other day and it didn't 'take' if you catch my drift. The yeast I used was also about 6 months past BB date.

    They would be great ciabata's!
