    Default GV Making knocking noise

    Hi Folks,

I've lifted my 2019 GV in April by 45mm. I've done the same with my previous GV. But recently, knocking noise started to make by the coil spring and the spacer every time I go over a bump. Anyone else got similar issue after raising the suspension with a spacer? It's getting annoying and would like to know how I can get rid of it.

Do you have camber adjustment bolts and is the camber correct?

The obvious one would be to remove the strut and make sure that everything has been tightened correctly - the nuts holding the strut to the spacer could be loose, the nuts holding the spacer to the body mount could be loose, sway bar could be loose everything needs to be checked.

    Thank you for the reply.
I believe it is the correct camber. Who in Pretoria can do this for me? Any recommendations?

I'm in Cape Town . Any wheel alignment place can measure camber...

You can always go to Bryanston Suzuki, not too far from Preroria, they installed my lift kit and would know what to check for.

My GV is also lifted. Ever since, I've noticed a squeaking sound when I do a serious cross axle action. When I took my car in for the 2nd service this week I asked the technicals guys what could cause this noise as I thought it may be some sort of linkage problem. They immediately asked if the car had a lift kit - according to them, the squeak is created by the spacer rubbing on the inside of the coil spring?
I seem to recall other forumites discussing this in the past....Daveysmith, any ideas?
    But Ihtun101, I can't say mine knocks - just a squeak.

Ihtun101, just reading your post again reminds me of a similar problem I had with my old Xtrail. It developed a distinct knock every time I went over a bump. Every kind of mechanical "expert" gave his opinion including one who said I needed to replace the steering rack. Of course I did have the shocks checked but if these guys don't see oil pouring out of the shock, the shock is fine in their opinion. Eventually in desperation I changed the front shocks regardless. Problem solved!! - no more knocking.

if knock is at front it can be one of the following two:.

top of the shock not tighten properly.
remove plastic cover, take a look with a torch, push your fingers inside to touch screw(top of the absorber) an get someone to shake the car.it there is movement you'll need 6mm alen key and 19 socket

second possibility in number 16 from link below
    https://www.suzukicarparts.com/v-201...ont-suspension

in this case you'll need,if i remember correctly,5mm alen key and 14 spanner.
to get access to it turn full right or left depending on side you are busy with.

    hope this helps
