    Default Victron Multiplus Inverter/Charger 12/500/20

Are there any cheaper alternatives to this Victron UPS Inverter/charger ...

    The Victron 12/500/20 sells between R6900 - R8000 !!!

Does your CPAP machine not have a 12V adapter?

Yes, but I have other requirements as well

Need to find suggestions to alternatives to the Victron - (If I had the cash I actually would buy it without considering something else...)

P.S. I am not looking for responses from would be sellers or any commercial responses - only comments/experience/suggestions from forum members on Inverter/chargers (leave actual pricing out of the thread I can search that myself)

I would also look at the PSS range. The SH-600 and SH-800 are 12V models with a built in charger of 10/20A. Give the sales people a buzz. The other models are 24V and they have external batteries so one can have enough battery power for the whole night.

All I can tell you is the Victron is brilliant, I highly doubt you'll find something of similar quality and with similar feature set for considerably cheaper. I have experience with a 12/1200/50 Multiplus and it does exactly what it says on the tin.

Maybe give more info on all your needs apart from your CPAP, there is probably another cheaper way even though it won't be as elegant as a Multiplus.

My dad for example uses his CPAP directly off 12V rather than using a inverter. 100Ah 12V battery with a mains battery charger and the CPAP power supply connected to it.
A new 100Ah battery was R1500, he already had the mains battery charger but they are also around R1000 depending what you get, so R2500 - R3000 and you can easily run your CPAP threw the night.

Other option is to call MLT inverter. They got a small 12v unit to that farmers love to use and the guys say they work really good to. And i think Microcare got a 12v unit to.

I think the OP was mentioning a UPS - like functionality. Not just an inverter?

Have a look at the Inverters/Chargers from Meanwell. Still a good brand to use and pure sine wave options.

Installed a TN-1500 5 years ago for someone and still going strong for permanent daily use in residential setup.

It seems like the TN-1500 can cost up to R18 000. Although good one can but 12 China inverters.

To be realistic the MeanWell is more than 12 times the China Inverter.

Have a look at the Delta UPS (Amplon) from RT Systems
