    Feck off!
Please tell me whats ignorant about this. I have looked hard at this forum and Garub Station isn't really mentioned until this vandalism took place. Oh and I see that your based in Cape Town which probably makes you one of the ignorant South Africans who like to visit Namibia but bring everything from home and wont contribute to the Namibian Economy Meat Beer Wood Fuel wine all brought into the country. Met loads of them in Namibia. That's as far as my deep thinking reaches i'm afraid.

    Wayne,
You asked for and received advise from the forum regarding your trip (which sounds like it may have been cut short).
Please provide a trip report when you have a chance to assist others.
We were planning to start a long trip the first part of which was similar to where you were planning to go but have been stopped from doing so but would appreciate updated information and feedback regarding your experiences.
    Thanks

Gents, relax. I live here (SA) and have seen numerous photos of this building and always thought it was just an abandoned house. I had no idea until this incident, that it was an historic station.

Remove the emotion and reread what he is saying.

This incident has drawn attention to two things; 1) The act of vandalism, the perpetrators and the follow up and; 2) Publicity for both this building and Namibian Tourism.

Personally, I saw nothing untoward in Wayne's post and I understood it from the perspective of the additional publicity.
