    Hi guys

    In the market for a hi lift jack.

    I see some places sell a farm jack?

    What's the best to get and where for the best price.?

    Hi Willem, I would start on Gumtree if you want to save a bit of money. Make sure it is an original Hi Lift (also called a Farm Jack as you have stated). There are some "copies" available. If you get an original, you can be sure that the many accessories will fit correctly. I believe they come in 48 inch or 60 inch. Great bit of kit.

    Farm jack is not the same as a Hi-Lift, it is a copy, and not nearly as good. This is one of those things where only the original is worth it. You may come right with a second hand one, and then you can just buy a service kit and it will be as good as new

    Also, if you have a lift or long travel suspension on your defender, you need to get the full length hi lift (1.6m I think), the 1.2 is too short to lift sufficenlty. Also, look a buying a jack buddy to go with it, so you can jack the wheel up directly.

    Correct, farm jack is useless. Get the real McCoy.
