    Default Mujaji Cycad

Not sure where to post, but would like to share this.

In just over 30 years our Mudjadji only made one single cone.

Now after all these years it's pushing out no less than 5 cones. Is this normal?

Spelling is Modjadji after the rain Queen https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rain_Queen
Perhaps the double is a sign of good rains

Where can I find more info on the Modjadji Cycad as I would really like to know more about the number of cones. As per Wiki they produce 2-4 cones. Our cycad shows 5 possible cones.

    Encephalartos transvenosus (Modjadji Cycad)

Most of the time 1-4 cones, but 5-10 male or female cones not unusual

You can also look for Cycadfriends. We discuss and share lots of information on this site. It has a technical area where the detail of each plant is discussed and it also has photos.

I'd say, for the first time in 30 years, your Cycad is HAPPY in it's environment.
    What has changed?
