    Default LandCruiser 76 V8 changes since 2013?

    Hi folks

I’m trying to figure out what changes have been made to the 76 cruiser since the 2013 V8 model. Most info online seems to relate to the Australian specs.

Anyone able to give a summary of changes since 2013?

    thanks!

There have not been any significnt changes from 2013 to now...

One notable one is indeed the manual locking hub going back to auto...IMHO the manual hubs are far more reliable...

Then they also went back to rear drum brakes around 2015 or 2016...

The other change was a different (MUCH BETTER) radio...other than this locally SA market I don't think there are any other changes...

Around 2018/19 on the 79 it went from auto to manual hubs on the front.

And from rear discs brakes back to drums.

On both the 76 and 79 everything stayed just about the same, and no there is no new gearing, just a speedo correction.

Why on earth did they go back to drums at the back? Has this reduced the towing capacity back down again

RPiet...again IMHO I think they went back to drums because 8 out of 10 guys are fitting spacers on the rear to correct the tracking of the front and rear wheels and because of this, the discs were very exposed causing a lot of 'come backs' to the dealers...but this is really just my opinion...
