    Default Quick Pitch Tent

I decided to design a canvas tent that could easily be pitched and knocked down again. Ideal for 1 or 2 nights. I call the tent the QPT- Quick Pitch Tent and is 3m x 3m x 2.1m. It also includes a large awning and can be errected by a single person. I have tested it in wind and rain and works GREAT! What do you think of it?

It reminds me a bit of the Turbo tent from Natural Instincts? I would like to see more photos, and how small it folds up to?

Watch out for that name if you want to sell it, they might hunt you down and try to fine you for using their name

Tent seems nice, but it does not explain what makes it easy to pitch... Also, be careful as the "Quick Pitch" already has copy rights and is an established company (Started here in RSA, but apparently has moved to Aus)

Cheaper than an Oztent RV5, but bigger, a tall person (I'm 194cm) can stand upright with no problem. Also cooler as it has a ceiling and breathable roof and comes with an aluminium table....

It looks very interesting. From what I can see, the roof looks very different from the other instant tents on the market..

So, give us some more pics..?

Maybe a 2.5x2.5 option also. That size works excellent for 2 persons and will be less in weight.....

Same principle as a normal "dome" tent/frame outside. For me a dome tent is also a Quick pitch (but not as quick as a RV)

BUT i like the squared variation (more usable upright space), the large veranda, and maybe some other features that are as yet not visible.

    Keep on posting

Interesting poles you are using. Seems stronger than the common variety. Does it work better and is it locally available ?
Does the awning puddle ? It seems rather flat.
That door sill seems high. Us older people will trip or step on it and it may then tear in the corner ?

Also the door will be lower in the final version and no, the awning does not puddle as the pitch can be altered during rainy days.

    Yes it looks good.
One comment: The sides seem too straight and steep which means you can only stand in the middle of the tent. Dome tents have curved sides giving more space and more standing room.
And why is it easier to pitch?

Thanks for all the comments and interest, we are going to test the tent thoroughly this Easter and will then update with photos. Summary of features:
    # 3m x 3m and 2.1m high
    # Riptech 400 gsm canvas
    # PVC floor 550 gsm
    # 3m x 1.5m awning
    # 3 windows with awnings and roll up privacy screen on the inside + mosquito netting
    # large door with mosquito netting door
    # super strong aluminium frame
    # breathable ceiling with mosquito netting
    # super easy to pitch and pack away (details to follow)
    # takes up very little space in boot or bakkie loadbin (details to follow)
    # holds up well to strong winds (tested in the South Easter of Somerset West)
    # ideal for senior citizens who do not like climbing ladders as in rooftop tents, yet want something that is easy and quick to pitch (I'm 60 and exactly my requirements)

    Again, thanks for the comments!
