Default Flush mount tie down anchors

    Hi All

Iíve been trying to find flush mount tie down anchors similar to the ones in the pictures. The ones in the pictures are from my bus, but I want to install two more to be used as tie down anchors for my fridge. I have been to all the major outdoor outlets in the Northern suburbs of Cape Town and none have them. I Have been referred to places I have been to already. Can anyone here point me in the right direction please?
    Kind regards
    Hennie

Thank you Howie. I was there. Those are to big. More suited to a flatbed.

Is it for a bakkie loadbin?

These I have and it sits flush with the top of the grooves in the loadbin and the hooks can be removed or placed wherever on the rail.
I have them at different locations for different configurations.

Have seen them at Outdoor warehouse too

Thank you Pietsweis. It is for the inside of my t5 kombi. Two fixed points that I can tie my fridge to. They are available online for a price. There has got to be a local supplier.

    I use these.

Not completely flush but close enough.

Why not buy some from vw, or try a scrap yard for a t5 wreck.
The NP200 also have some liftup hooks in the loadbin - have a look at them and if you like it go to Nissan.

They look very similar to the ones in audi avant. If you're stuck a visit to breakers might yield a few. I'm guessing VW passat estates also have them.

Good idea. Guess I'll visit some scrap yards. Thank you, guys. Strange that it is not so readily available.

Why not install a rivnut of your chosen size, with a large washer at the back. You get extra long ones from Rivco to ensure a proper grip when using the thick material (body plus washer)

Then you can install/remove any fixing point when and as required. When not in use, I close it with a SS mushroom Allen bolt.

I did this in the Amarok and it really is a practical arrangement.

Thank you "rian skip" The fridge will not be an permanent instal. I am worried about the rings rattling when not in use. Need spring loaded ones.

Here you go: I rust treated the holes and also used some Sikaflex during the installation. This sort of waterproofs it. The brown color you see is not rust, but coppa slip, to prevent the fixture from seizing int he thread.

I used M8 riv nut, in combination with a lifting ring. The SS mushroom allen nut is used in between "trips" to keep dust and water out.
