    Default Blue Nova Battery Charger

    Hi All

What will be the most appropriate/best charger to charge the Blue Nova Mobile series of batteries

    https://www.bluenova.co.za/mobile-power-series/

1 - Charging from an AC outlet

    And

2 - Charging from a DC outlet like the cigarette plug in your car. And is this even advisable? If not what will be the best way to charge in your car WITHOUT permanent wiring as I would like to remove the battery when not driving.

    Thanks all
    Danie

Maybe I was not clear. I understand that the AC and DC charger will be separate units.

I just want to understand which ones.

Doesn’t need to be super fast, but also not take a day if I use for example the 570wH version

For AC charging - something like this:

For in-vehicle charging I use normal solenoid setup - sofar without ill effects.

Charging from solar panels - the newer Victron charge controllers has a setting for LiPO4 batteries - best accessed from the Bluetooth app.

From AC: Normal Victron Blue Smart AC charger as it charges at 14.4v, which is right for the BlueNova MPS batteries.

From DC: A DC-DC charger like the Ctek 250D or Projecta.

I have 218Ah BlueNova MPS in my BushLapa, working like a dream.

For the 570Wh you may also consider the following alternative

    http://www.hcdpelectronics.co.za/ind...&product_id=81

    http://www.hcdpelectronics.co.za/ind...&product_id=24

Note the HcdP 12V 12A DC-DC is in fact a constant voltage charger at 14.2V - it will be ok for the B/Nova BMS

The ctek d250s isnt actually a recommended dc-dc/solar charger for the bluenova - Edit - Only the D250SE is good for the BLuenova, not the normal D250S

The National Luna NLDC 25 is a better option

There is also a Victron option, but I havent seen it for sale in SA yet - Orion Tr Smart Dc-Dc charger, not to be confused with the Orion Tr converter
