    Default Bush Lapa 'slip-on' Bosluis

I must say I like this new addition.... It was in the pipeline for quite some time. I can imagine it took some planning to make everything work in a practical way. I would love to see one up close.

Wonder if they will make one for a DC?

I got a quote for a Mammoth the other day (just for giggles and in anticipation for the Powerball winnings)

That Mammoth is NOT cheap and then you need a Iveco PLUS you need to have the chassis lengthened by 1m.

Vir my huidige behoeftes werk my FJ en Miskruier. Tussen kampe staan alby en stof vergader. Dalk as ek oor 5 jaar aftree sien ek dinge anders...

Baie mense verkies die soort "slide on camper" eerder as n permanente ombouing

Ek mis ook my double cab is dit kom by maklik pak .

651 kg dry weight plus 90 kg water , plus 26 kg gas , plus food and supplies and you are near 800 kg plus
I suppose much much better than towing or lugging something behind you on a sandy track

I thought about the slip on but realised that I did not want to drive in a bakkie any longer. I am a farmer and have most of my life done long trips between the cape and OVS.my back would not handle it. So I bought an 2004 EFI SUV and cut off the back extended the chassis and did the suspension up to handle the weight as not a leaf suspension. The long and short of it is the vehicle cost me much less than a good second hand LC bakkie and I could put all the extras I wanted on. When towing my vlooi I used to get 6 km to the liter and now 5 km. At my age can't see my wife and I trying to slip on and off a bosluis. Especially if we intend to travel a lot in retirement. Also the added bins on the side etc swung my thinking. Our Bosluis 2 is currently being manufactured. I sincerely hope this project is a success. The cheaper vehicle allowed us to put on all the 4x4 accessories we needed on the vehicle which we would have had to do with an expensive bakkie.
