    Default Prado 120 Ball joints

    Hi All

I need some advice. The upper right ball joint on my prado is on it's way out. I got a quote for R17k to replace upper and lower, left and right. Apparently you have to replace the whole upper swing arm as you cannot remove the joint from the upper swing arm. However, I contacted a few places and they sell the upper and lower joints separately. Which tells me it must be possible to remove the upper joint from the swing arm?

    Anyone know more about this?

I've had the same issues 6 months ago. You can replace the lower control arm (LCA) ball joints. I ordered the parts from Australia. Much cheaper than replacing the LCAs. I couldn't replace the upper control arm ball joints so I opted to buy some better UCAs from the US. PM me if you need more details.

Hi, what was your experience, would do ball joints alone again or should one just get the full lower controlled arm with bushes and ball joint from Toyota? My Prado 120 has only 180,000km so am planning to keep it a few more years. Andre
