I'm not sure if Ferdie will be back by then, so it may be just me and myself.

    Yes. Can’t wait!

I’d be most grateful if the old hands can advise what is needed to be “self sufficient”

Power - cause you need cold beer!!!!

This is actually not an easy question as everybody do things differently.

I'v been on trips were the guy litterly lies next to the fire and sleeps just there.

Other take a pop up, normal tent, rooftop tent or sleep in the vehicle.

When we say self sufficient you must be able to feed yourself, so plan your menu.
Have your own water for drinking and bathing or just make it a "varkie naweek"...

Spade and toilet paper. You sorted.

    Carry enough fuel.

You will be in a dry river and no shops for minimum 3 days so carry eveeything you need but also dont pack the kitchen sink.

    Its a small overland trip....

Not necessary for every vehicle to have a high lift jack but everybody usually have their own recovery gear when it comes to ropes schacles etc

    Any questions please ask!!

I did the River Trip with my Disco 2 Td5 Auto in 2018. There was only one place that I left the riverbed with four of the other guys to bypass a section of huge boulders. The guys that went through that section all had lots of underbody protection on their vehicles and lots experience. It was a fantastic experience and great spirit within the group made it special. I learned a lot on that trip from guys like Flipside, Grips, KurtG and Manny.
Pack light and have a sleeping setup that is quick and easy to put up and take down. You don't want to be trying to pack in the morning when the group needs to leave.

    Damn I miss those days.

There are a whole bunch of photos of a Yellow Jeep Rubicon with a ND number plate with a very skilled driver doing some difficult technical stuff.

    Guess who.

And a few photos of lost and sadly passed away great people and friends.

It was a great honor to be present.
