Default 16V on National Luna battery box

Why would the volt meter on the National Luna battery box show 16V when the 105 Ah AGM battery becomes fully charged by the plug-in National Luna battery charger? During charging, the meter shows something like 14V. The battery seems to easily power my Engel 40L fridge for 16 hours through the night, ending up in the morning with around 12.4 V on same voltmeter.

Note this battery was previously used in one of my UPS's until it became clear it could not really handle the loads, and was recommissioned to the battery box role, maybe it got damaged, but still able to power the fridge, hence the weird 16V reading when fully charged.

    Anybody seen this before?
