Had a chat with Ezemvelo regarding those who have booked and paid. Being the brilliant oke I am sometimes, I had the forethought of sending correspondence in April to postpone to the new date, so our funds and reservation is safe.

Planning on making a turn past the campsite tomorrow to have a chat with the camp manager and give him a heads up of our weekend.

Graeme, in case you are wondering..38 sleeps

    Hi Riaan
If you get my booking right, only 37 sleeps for us! (We booked for the Thursday as well)

But the star that I know you are, you will get it right!!!!

Starting to get excited, going to take the trailer off the blocks tomorrow, start charging batteries etc (probably too early but something to do)

The Landy went to Eshowe yesterday for its annual (OVERDUE!) service so we will all be raring to go. (Yes guys, Landies do go ask Gavin)

It looks like we will have the new Isuzu at the gtg. Not sure which derivative, but whatever demo is available for us will be there.

    Awesome Marais!

I visited the campsite today. The camp manager Mrs Mthembu, indicated that they are "officially" opening coming Monday but have guests camping already. So our venue is sorted, sjoe am I glad for that and the camp manager is looking forward to our visit.

A recce will be done hopefully next weekend with Gavin, Marais ( still need to confirm with the two gents) and myself on the forest route to see what's what. Busy trying to source a chainsaw or two as the route might be choked wirh fallen trees which needs to be cleared.

    Pete & Margie.

    Booked and paid.

Long time since we last went to Ongoye Forest (2006). We both saw the Green Barbet but Margie didn't see the Delegorgeu's Pigeon. Hopefully she'll see it this time.

Thank you so much for the Stihl Gavin, hoping to not have to use it this weekend but good to have for back up. And it was good to see you and shoot the breeze, as they say. I was astounded by your French when you chatted to the Congolese car guard at the hospital today..and you speak Zulu. Jislaaik.

It will be good to share a fire again with you good folk

    Names added to the list.

The French is the very little bit that I have picked up being married to a French speaking Chic.
It was great to be able to see you and chat in person. Sorry I had to duck and missed seeing the Blonde.

So, an update on the demo vehicles: There will be a Defender available for test drives but I have been told that someone else will bring the vehicle. Not sure yet who that will be. There will also be an Isuzu available and this will be brought by Mark Boodram from Fury Isuzu in Richards Bay. He is keen to spend the day with us and to get to know more about our 4x4Community. The third vehicle is a V6 Amarok which will be brought by Theo Coetzer from Midbay Motors. He is also keen to get to know all of you and he will bring his family to spend the day with us. Unfortunately Mitsubishi had been unable to provide a demo vehicle as a result of stock shortages after the COVID-19 lockdown.

Looking forward to see you all around the campfire!
