There was a thread about this in the Ford section. Made for very interesting reading.

Depends on weight, wind, resistance of goods, towing blah blah blah...

Fill up full, ride for 100km on all sorts of road surfaces, fill up, divide milage by fuel input to get average consumption.

    I work on 10km/l,having a 80ltr tank and prob 20ltr reserve. I get 12km/l but work on 10km/l.....2003,250d,4x2.

The fun is going to come with the "attempted to drive to empty" part.

Whilst it is a valid question, the guys are not for it due to possible damage to engine and fuel pump etc.

At 16 L per 100 Km that is not bad at all if accurate, but it really does depend on so many other factors.
In my experience my old Suuz uses anything from horrendous (deeps sand, low range & towing a trailer, heavily loaded) to about 10 L per 100 KM not towing, little load tar road travel at about 100 Kph.
Best is keep some record from full tank to full tank and with different driving conditions, speed, tyre pressures, load, towing or not, etc.
Then you can calculate an average for each type of driving condition.

Be careful - driving a diesel to empty can damage the fuel pump and engine.

The KB5's have a notoriously large reserve tank, I've heard figures of 150-200km driven on the reserve...

Haven't put those claims to the test myself though..

As well as a notorious airlock the last 20 liters. Even on my MUX. I am often seen shaking my Isuzu like a man possesed when filling up.

HAHAH. Yes that too, wow I haven't heard of the air lock on the newer models though, 2017 Dmax in the family has not had this.

A lot of guys with KB5 did breather modifications it is cheap and effective.

When I had my 2005 Go Big, I ended up with a light coming on and I drove 120km to the filling station. I had the filler/breather kit installed and when filling up, I calculated that there should have beeen about 7-8lt more left in the tank
