    This is getting an interesting read.
    I have also read that it is not advised to use full synthetic oil on rebuid engines,rather a mono grade 30 for break in first 1000 km.
    Thats older engines ?

    During break in you need the rings to seat properly in the bores and for the bearings to conform to the surfaces, if you run too good oil it does not break in and can/will cause problems later when the engine needs to work hard. I do my break in with a cheap mono like a sae 40 and drop that after the first 1000 km. During that time the engine is not bullied at all and revs are kept relatively low
