My experience in my shack, even with the very best (switching) chargers and inverters is the the 40M band is completely obliterated.

Even a domestic commercial Grid-Tie system kills HF. When I want to use HF I simply turn of the chargers/inverters and run of DC.

The EMI comes in thru the antenna and power. Not much good in shielding the antenna .

On a decent HAM receiver you are in fact measuring the EMI.

What are people using to plug in a multiplug?
Converted a UK plug into a multi adapter , solid connection into inverter.
Luckily I had a few around.

Not grid tied I know, but just for information.
ZS6BUN is busy installing a off grid system on his farm. I'm not sure of all details, but know it's based around Victron inverters and Blue Nova lithium.
He did some extensive testing and research before making purchase decisions since radio was basically his number one concern.

I'm not sure exactly what testing equipment he used, but he mentioned that it wasn't run of the mill stuff. He said with the Victron inverter running he could detect a bit of RFI when right next to the inverter, but from a meter or 2 away it was clean. His system is going in to a purpose built room some distance from the shack and antennas, he is even confident that he will be able to put up antennas for 160m.

The current price is up a lot. The bigger problem is the shipping which is now only expidited close to R600 and the 3000W (R1462) which we bought does not ship to ZA.

I ordered a 3000w unit a week ago but three days into the order there is a message attached saying Item I ordered is now out of stock. There is no indication as to when they might get new stock. I'll give it another week and the ask for my money to returned if they cant give me an indication as when stock might be available. For all I know the producers might be in lock-down. Why advertise something which is out of stock in the first place?

I unplugged my charger yesterday morning (swambo needed a plug of her laptop), and forgot to plug it back in afterwards. Woke up last night at 02:00 with the inverter "beeping"

I immediately remembered I unplugged the charger. Obviously the battery was running low, so plugged back in I checked the victron app on my phone. Battery was at 11.1V

So my 200ah gel gave me 14 hours without complaining. (running 2 routers, 2 x dstv decoders, soundbar, tv and my kitchen fridge)

Battery now at 12.4 under bulk charge still.

From my experience Gel and AGM take some time to get to 100% full when drawn down to that level.

Three cloudy days and AGM takes two full days of sun to get back 'up' again, whilst under load during charging.

How many panels would be needed to charge a 200 amp battery?

    I am using 3 x 120W panels on a 260Ah battery.

Controller can handle another panel, but not been necessary yet.

This can only be answered if one knows in what time frame you want them fully charged and also if the bat was fully discharged or just to 50% DOD.

Have had a power outage in the area for the past couple of hours and the Inverter is working flawlessly.

There are still very few builds showing how you put your inverters together.
