This morning they had 50 or so. I went to visit them, they know me well as I am registered as a dealer with them.

I ordered two and went to Gelmar to pick up some fixtures for the Inverter cabinet.

When I went back to pick them up they had a bout 15 left on the floor.

Powerzone usually sell the Enertec and Energizer brand. Similar prices between the 2 brands.

Wow - never thought when I placed my impressions of this cheap inverter so many guys would jump in on this small value for money PSW inverter.

Lately we have enough time on LS to check it's operation.

Time to report back on my cheapest solution using my 12V 7A China pulse chargers. Yes I did indicate I use 3 of them in ||. At R175 x 3 = R525. Yes between LS sessions my 2 x Deltec start batteries do charge up to the 14.7V level and the chargers switch from normal to trickle charge. I run all my lights in the house as well as laptop and 2 routers and do switch on my 2 fridges for a short period during LS. Also use any of my power tools like drill, sander, jigsaw, router, soldering iron. There is only 1 problem. I cannot get more of these chargers for now.

I am still waiting for my battery box to be made up at the place that does the laser cutting. I opted to make up a box that can house 3 x 102Ah batteries although I am only using 2. Good to have the space for future use and who knows if there will not be a Li-Ion included.

I have also been able to help a number of our readers with the Solar Battery from Battery Centre. I hope you guys get good service from them.

But as mentioned, it's a bit overkill for my use, hence I since connected my fridge (which i'm pleasantly surprised at its efficiency), and still the equipment is idle-ling. At least it should last me many, many years

okay no wait ... the fans on the inverter aren't annoying, it's unbearable in the office. I was hoping the inverter's fans would only come on during a 500W+ load, but nope ... it feels the need to come on regularly.

Hi all please help I have 4x 105ah deep cycle batteries with my invertor. They are now about 18 months old. Up to a month ago I was getting about 6 hours of power when load shedding. I have my fridge/ freezer and a few LED lights that I run. I am now only getting about two hours. I think I now have to buy new batteries. Can you suggest the best batteries to buy. Someone has already suggested the Deltec crystal batteries. Any suggestions please. Click image for larger version.

    yes, thanks for that ...

ordered the 12V/3000W yesterday for my 85yr old Dad just to run the TV, decoder and one or two lamps. hopefully not too long before it arrives. will be coupled to 2x 75Ah batteries. charger would be the Midas one you guys keep talking about.

paid by Mastercard tho the order reflects it as Paypal, guess that's where the 4% "currency conversion" charge comes in.

must say that Standard Bank fraud dept was on the ball as I almost immediately received a Y/N confirmation SMS before payment was released.

As long as you are aware of the shortcomings of that Midas charger... especially if it is the PSA008.

What are the short comings. ?

I cant think of any that are substantive that are unique to the PSA and not common to all chargers of this type.

I can think of a load of unique advantages.

I also took the plunge and went this route. Major reason is that I am currently renting and dont want to change anything in the current house.
With very limited knowledge of electricity I have been following this thread and got some good advice from members.

So now I am sharing my completed (for now) setup.
    Used the following:
    - One 12V/3000W Changi Inverter
    - 2 x 104 AH batteries in parallel. (Thanks Ekkekan)
    - Old container lying around, works quiet well after I added castors/wheels.
    - Midas PSA008 charger I had, need to probably upgrade at some stage.
    - China Mall plug
    - 12V meter (Thanks Ekkekan)
    - Fuse box with 100AH fuse

My current usage is around 220W but I think it could go up to about 500W max. What I would like from the experienced guys, what should I look at changing or take into consideration.

They apparently don't reset when the power is cut, only if you break the connection to the battery which hobbles them a bit for this useage scenario. When power is restored they resume the last used charge sequence and they do not first check the current state of the battery. A "dumb" charger albeit with some quite advanced features.
