    Thanks
You will have to choose a courtier option so that it does not go via SAPO. Refer to the cost to guide you if SAPO or courier service.

Cost not an issue really. Which courier goes direct to my house ?

If anyone is still looking for a good socket for the current range of China inverters I found this socket and it fits with only one 5mm hole to be drilled. This is to replace the universal ?? socket fitted.

There is a 5mm guide pin between the front and back halves. 3 screws of which one is from the front and 2 from the back. Cost is about R60 from ACDC although the web shows a price of R93. It is in the shelf where all the different plugtops are in line with the counter in the Centurion branch.

At Clicks there is a UK 3pin plug to SA 16A 3 pin socket adaptor for a price of only 25% of what a few other shops are selling which also works very well.

Has anyone had a load of 900-1000W on the inverter for more than an hour?

I use a dribuddy (tumble dryer thinghy) to dry my daughters clothes, I want to run it from the inverter, when on the inverter it varies between 940 ish to a 1000w

Can I run it for say 90min or would the inverter go bang? I have the 12v 3000W

    Hi

    I have run 800w-900w for 8 hours a day for 8 days.
But that is on a 3000w 24V inverter.

the inverter did get hot, so I put a fan next to it to cool it down.

Info on another topic placed last week.

    I have a 3KV 60A MPPT Controller/charger(12V, 24V, 36V, 48V), Changi 24V 3000W inverter, 4 x 120AH CSB Gel batteries and 6 x 150W panels.
It can run most of my essential stuff when the power is off for days (8 days the last time) but it then cant keep the batteries charged.

I thought to add my experience here, as this thread helped me a lot.

I bought the 4000w 24v from Banggood for just over R3000. I've been testing it and it only cuts off when the indicator on the inverter shows 2500w. The BMS on my battery indicates a draw of about 120amps.

I can run a 2200w Miele vacuum cleaner and a 710w drill at the same time. It's only when I put a big load on the drill that it hits 2500w. I've got a 250mm ryobi mitre saw and I thought the startup burst would be an issue, but no, not even a alarm. The only thing that made it trip, was when I tried to weld with a 160amp inverter welder. It just makes a arc, and then cuts out.

Thank you for all the info here. Hope this post helps someone else

So a while back I posted that my inverter didn't handle the corrugated roads of KNP. I finally opened it up to assess the damage. A small power supply board broke off; it was soldered to the main board with 5 pin headers. Soldering it back on appeared to be a mission, so I just pushed the remaining pin headers backwards through the PCB and soldered the back side onto the pins sticking up. The inverter appears to be working correctly again.

There are three boards attached to the main board with pin headers - these will all be weak, so I suggest taking some hot glue to them to reinforce them. There are also some input capacitors which aren't glued down - I also suggest gluing them to the main board.

The board layout and the way it's put together is still going to be weak, and vibrations will kill this thing easily. If you take it on the road, put a nice thick cushion under your inverter to shield it from the bumps.

My inverter is no longer outputting 220V although it is picking up the battery voltage.

Any ideas as to what is wrong and how I can fix it? Iíve opened the inverter and I donít see anything loose or disconnected.

I can't see anything from this perspective, but maybe just check the fuse.

No problem. You should have gotten a pair of them with the inverter, so it is possible to replace, but as far I know, the fuse is unfortunately soldered to the board. I could be mistaken, but that's what I think I read somewhere here.

The fuse is circled in the pic I attached.

There are 4fuses inside. This picture will show it clearly. On your picture they are dark red/maroon and behind the thick red wires.
They just push into female lugs and need no tools to remove. If they were blown I doubt you would get the battery voltage to display.

Yes, that's right - you probably wouldn't get a battery voltage reading if it was the fuses. In my earlier post of how I repaired mine, I referred to the three boards which are attached with pins to the main board. Check those - the little one is only attached with 5 pins, so it's a bit weaker, and if a pin was to break, that would be the more likely board. It can be difficult to see if a pin is broken, so if you can get a close up photo, it's easier to see. I would suggest taking the photo with bright sunlight lighting it up so that you get the clearest photo possible.

Otherwise look for other obvious broken connections.
