Smaller items ship, but the shipping is sometimes more than the item.
I have ordered before from Banggood, but just don't know what the problem is.
Maybe one of you are able to answer this, or best guess.

    Thanks
My tracking status also indicates that my parcel is still in a China warehouse.

Will have to wait it out I'm afraid.

As indicated the problem remains our lock down. I have some that were in SA 2 days before lock down and still awaiting delivery by the courier. Currently there is a massive back log for the couriers. Also items at the China warehouse. We just have to be patient.

I notice from this evening delivery to SA is back to normal with the cheaper Mail Direct option available.

Mine has been in SA, with tax paid, since 2 April. I complained twice, 8th and 15 again, it is now on it's way by PAXI (!) courier.

    Lockdown messed up transport seriously!

    I need some help please.

I want to set the Victron solar charger to the correct algorithm for my specific batteries which are AGM

That small rotary switch has 8 settings, and judging by the photo, it looks to be on setting 2.

Looking at the manual and battery type info given there, would setting 2 be fine, or rather setting 3? Both are AGM but mine is not a Victron battery.

Or should I go into expert mode and set the values myself according to the battery information?

Another question, on the Bluetooth app the current displayed in the battery section. (9.4 in this case) - I assume this would be amps going into the battery as I doubt that the unit is smart enough to measure load draw?

Set values to your particular battery spec sheet - expert mode

    But I'm not an expert.

Could you help me with this please?

On the battery spec sheet (previous post) I find info for the float voltages which is 2.25V per cell.

On the second page right at the bottom under "Charging Procedures" I find a value of 2.35 - 2.4V Would this be for the bulk or the absorption phase?

    Float value is 6x2.25 = 13.5Vv

    Cycle (bulk & absorption) 2.4x6 =14.4V
Equal is same voltage, but you keep setting on manual

    Thanks Prof.

I have changed the float voltage which was on 13.8V to 13.5V

The absorption voltage was already at 14,4V so I left it there.

I attach 2 screen shots of what is still available to be adjusted.

Does the remaining values look more or less correct?

What about that equalization voltage of 16.2V?

Do I leave it at that value? And how often should I equalize the cells? Once a month maybe?

    Thanks for all your help.

I would just change Equal value to 14.4V to be safe. It is set to manual.

Actually no real need to do equalisation. I haven't done it yet. Six monthly should be fine

My old PWM did it auto, but for 1 hr when battery fell below a set point.

    Thanks,

I'm quite happy this far with the unit. The Bluetooth function really makes things a breeze.

And it appears the system is doing really good, much better than with my previous PWM 20amp controller.

All that remains is for my 24V inverter to arrive and for me to rewire the panels in series.

Anything else I should know that is fancy, schmancy and interesting?

Is there a small monitor of sorts that one can connect with the V-port to see info without your phone present?

Maybe a dongle of sorts to connect the controller to your wifi to view info remotely?

Depends on how far you plan to go?

Because a VenusGX is a very good central point to access the MPPT from anywhere in the world, to see what it does ito the data it gives.

And if you are a DIY'er with an inclination towards electronics, you can do it very cheap with a Raspberry Pi, installing the free VenusGX software on it.

Apparently this thing can start you generator as well!

Although I did not find a price yet, I suspect this may be a bit tooo fancy for my liking and pricing.

Below is all I require the system to do, and half of this is already done by the controller itself - via Bluetooth and smartphone.

As soon as you 'log on' Venus GX provides an instant overview of your system: Battery state of charge; present power consumption; power harvest from PV; power provision from mains/generator
    .

I would like to see power consumption from the battery. In a screen right there with everything else.

Jip, Victron products are a real Lego system.

To see what goes in and out of the battery, get a Victron BMV. It has a display so you can view it all the time.

VenusGX is expensive, but as I said, you can download the software free and install it on a Pi IF you are inclined.
Me, I'm not. I like "plug and play".

One of my friends wrote software that reads data from the VenusGX.
Yes, one can see everything on the Victron Portal, or direct on the VenusGX, via any browser on any device.

But that sometimes one needs to see more ... or switch like a geyser on/off based on settings and Sonof relays.
So my pal wrote this software below, with a host of settings behind the screen one can set, he even estimates what solar irradiation one should get ... I use it on a old cellphone in the kitchen so that the wife can see when to switch what on i.e. solar is idling, so start the dishwasher etc.

As mentioned by TTT, your next step should be a BMV702 or BMV712. I would advise to add a victron BatteryProtect unit in conjunction with the BMV, then you can control the BatteryProtect via the BMVís relay output. So youíll never have a damaged battery due to low SOC.

The Venus is probably a bit of a overkill if you donít have a couple if victron products, but itís definitely a nice piece of equipment. I receive email notifications for any parameter that is outside a set value, and I wired the 2nd temperature probe input into my freezer. Now i can see all those values via the webpage and will be notified if my freezer ever heats up for what ever reason. Next up is adding the level of my water tanks to it. Unfortunately the probes are a bit expensive...

I have searched prices. They are seriously expensive. Around R3300.00 for the 702 model.

    But I really want!

I'll have to sell something to justify it.

Older price list attached from CA.
    BMV712 Smart was R 3 428.15 incl VAT.

Thanks for the recommendation, I've been scratching my head over this for a while now.

I want to run a 1500W table saw off my inverter for certain jobs, probably 3000W (or more) peak @ 220V. Suppose a 4000-5000W inverter will be best for this? 4000 should surely be enough.

Jip. Startup is one thing for at the time the table saw starts, their may be other loads on.

Running all off the inverter as the only source, can get interesting.
    Grid-tied, no issue at all.

The rules for grid-tied in SA is in the SANS and NRS regulations, which are national, not CoCT regulations. All Munic's fall under them ...

Speak to a Sparkie who has the latest SANS regs that came out recently / are in the process of being released.
Sparkies in Cpt was supposed to go on training now in Jun/Jul on the new SANS regulations I'm told by the Sparkie who did my initial grid-tied setup - one that was subsequently signed off by a Engineer.

If there are no regulations yet set out by your Munic, follow CoCT's regulations. They conform to the national SANS/NRS regs.
Far as I know, Eskom supplied instances are not allowed to grid-tie ... yet. But that has stopped no-one to date.

In the process of upgrading my original signed off setup, for I upgrade the inverter, enlarged the solar array and tippled the battery bank.
Have to re-register if there are material changes.
