They both arrive on 17 Feb....
You are going to be surprised. Also you will find you are not going to wait until 17 Feb. Check your tracking in the email Buffalo would send you. I guess 4 days after it is shipped from China you will get it. The tracking would word it "AIR SHIPPING" when at the airport in China on it's way.

The way I see it if you pay towards the tax free option customs is cleared within minutes. I have found using Aramex Global that it can take them 2 weeks to deliver after tracking indicated it is in SA.

Mine was shipped with very well made 16 sq mm cable and nice and short at 500mm long. I have some 35sq mm welding cable ready to be used but I see no problem in using what was supplied to run up to 1350W which is the max I had a suitable load for it. I did find at 1750W (DC watts) using the microwave it sound the warning that it is in overload. Got enough time to get to the microwave to switch off before the inverter switched itself off.
Volt drop with supplied cables seems to be 0.14V at 1200W on 12V.

I ended up going with 25 mm just because I had on-hand at the time.

    Thanks guys.

By supplying a proper cable for loads puts them in a better league as some.

The low price was held I think up to 25-01. Buyers can come back on a regular basis as the price also shot up after X-mas and came down on 30-12 for about a week.

There is nothing wrong with most Chinese stuff, but just don't try buy too cheap or you may get stung by garbage/fake.

My issue is with delivery, Wish has awesome stuff on their website, but since it can only be delivered via SAPO, I only get about 20% of what I order and sometimes 6 months later. Only buy from Banggood or AliExpress if there is a courier service involved.

But also try make sure that the stuff you are buying doesn't seem unreasonably cheap, there are a lot of fake/bogus "businesses" on those sites. Do a bit of homework seeing if they are reputable first (many are). Although it sounds nasty (perhaps even a bit racist), but us SAffers will understand the comparison - Pretend that you are buying from Nigeria/ns - Many are good, but the bad ones leave a horrible experience behind.

Ok, so I did a bit more reading further up the thread, and this is looking like a good deal! So I've ordered mine. R1190 including insurance. I've been looking for an inverter, so this is great.

I presume with Corona virus air shipping could be delayed or is this not a problem?

I have another question, can the virus be spread by infected people touching the package? In China they wear gloves when shopping to prevent contamination..

I wonder if the virus is slowing down products shipped from China?

My inverter order from last Friday just says "in transit" at this stage.

Could well be. Ordered on Sunday, 26/1/2020. Credit card statement shows payment went through - but order still “pending”. Shot them an email yesterday - no reply received. Will try “Live Chat” function today.

I received my payment confirmation and shipment confirmation emails on the same day of purchase.

From what I've read, yes, the virus can spread by being on a surface. I am going to take the necessary precautions when handling my package when it arrives. I'll probably open the box with gloves, sanitize/wash after that, then take the things out the box, wipe down the contents with sanitizer or rubbing alcohol, and then sanitize/wash my hands.

    They say it takes 7 - 15 business days. That's 2 - 3 weeks.

These types of viruses can only survive on a surface for a few hours. There should be zero risk of getting infected via imported goods.

Also keep in mind how many other imported goods from China you get into contact with every time you go to a supermarket.

True, but have goods arrived yet that were shipped after the virus pandemic started?

Anyway, I just thought I'd take precautions, but it makes sense that the virus won't survive the transit.
