Default Groenkloof Definately NOT a 1-2 Gradient.

    Hello all,

I have been on a few trips with friends, I have recently took ownership of my own "Bok-Wa" and
decided to go to Groenkloof on Sunday.

I am a "rookie" when it comes to driving, but I have been around some other trails including Piesangkloof, Koos se Klip etc.
It rained heavily on Saturday and I cannot believe that Groenkloof is only a 1/2.

There was so much water that I decided to skip the Hippo Hole.
I was thinking of doing Thabo Monate next but don't know if this was the best idea considering what I saw at Groenkloof.

Please let me know your thoughts.

    Thanks.

    I haven’t been there for a while.

Like with most trails, Groenkloof is very different when its dry vs wet.

I guess overall it may not have a heavy grade, but there are certainly some of the rocky sections etc that are tricky at stages. Even more so when its wet.

    Grading is subjective....

And with 208 mm and 316mm of rain in Nov & Dec respectively it looks defnitaley not the same as when the grading took place...

Thanks. It was tough for me. Going to do Serendipity within the coming weeks. Very excited. Also very stressed TBH. But we are a big group this time. With some having 15+ years experience. Hope I dont get any damage.

I prefer to go with this one other vehicle if it is a new trail. Doing a trail as a newby there are as many opinions as there are bums in the seats.
