Default Resistor for LED light upgrade?

    Good evening all,

I have installed LED replacement bulbs (H4) in my Fj and im very happy with the outcome, but since installing them my auxiliary spot lights have stopped working...

I'm no expert, but i'm thinking that the relay is not being triggered because of the lack of resistance from the LED.
If i put my halogen bulbs back, everything works a charm.
What type of resistor will I need and where do I install it?

The relay is triggered by the positive wire from the brights, can I add a resistor to that line?

    Thanks in advance.

So do I wire it on the feed from the bright tie in?
What type of resistor do I need and where would one purchase them? Is there a specific rating? Wattage/Voltage/Resistance?

So where should I wire this? apologies for all the questions, but I would like to get this right.

If I wire it between the brights tie in and the relay will it work?

I wired mine over the bright. That is when the blue light on the dash gets confused. Also wouldn't kick in the relay for the spots. Now it does. (Been there for about a year now.)

I have found these on the FJ cruiser club chat group.

Going to collect from Assegai Africa. R350 for the set! Appreciate the help!

As can be seen from the Pic of the kit the resistor value is 8 ohm and 50W. They are available from za.rs-online.com at about R60 each.

Or just wire in an indicator bulb and leave it taped to something under the bonnet.

...and when all is done go sit in a sedan and have someone approach you at night with your vehicle and decide if that is what you would like to do to all the other road users you are going to approach at night.
