    Default Pajero query

    Hi gents

Might be a weird question, but maybe someone has experienced the same issue. On my Gen4 LWB Pajero, something feels loose in the middle, underneath the car. Especially when pulling away, going over speed humps and breaking (no noise though).

I have reconditioned the rear drive shafts early in Dec, as that made a knocking noise when pulling away and stopping - that issue is sorted.
Don't think this issue is related in any way to the rear drive shafts.

Mileage on the car is 132,000km

    Thanks for hearing me out.

Do you have an aftermarket bashplate on the Pajero? They are prone to making funny noises, even when super tight, due to chassis flex.

edit - I just read your post again - you say no noises. Then how do you experience this looseness?

I can feel it, on my feet. Don't know how to explain, almost like a rolling feeling.

Ah yes. Can definately be that one. Forgot about that feeling under the feet.

Try it with full tank, half tank etc and note if it changes the feeling under feet.

    I think Kurt nailed it.

    No it's definitely not that,

As a member mentioned with a message it might be the crossmember bushes on the gearbox. Going to have that checked out.

Nope, definitely not that. Have the vehicle for a year and a half now. And it only started recently.

I also had a strange noise from underneath.. turned out that the aluminium tread on the side-bar step ( under doors ) was loose .
Drilled out the old rivets and replaced with nylon lock-nuts 100%

Gearbox mounting? On my pajero sport there is a rubber mount that is roughly in the centre of the car. It is attached to a crossmember there

Hi, taking my car to Arnold at Mitsitech in Alberton in the coming month or two for the next service and ask them to have a look.
Just thought I ask here on the forum, perhaps someone had the same issue as me.

    Thank you though.

Lekker. I only suggested Henk because your location says Pretoria. Arnold will definitely get you sorted though. The dude's a magician.

Don't laugh, I had a similar "something loose, with no noise" in my Isuzu bakkie (years ago). On bumpy roads, braking, speed humps.... easier to copy and past -"Especially when pulling away, going over speed humps and breaking (no noise though). "

Look under the seat, look behind your seat, look in those 2 little Pajero storage compartments under the back seat.

I found a black rusted spanner hiding between carpets under the seats, difficult to see and find, it took me a while to find it. It moved enough for me to feel it, but as it was between "carpets" I could not find it and no noise.

My bet is it's in one of the little storage compartment under the seats.

Haven't had it checked out yet. Will give feedback as soon as I had the chance to take the Pajero in. Doesn't seem to cause issues so not really in a hurry.
Also first have to take the Triton in for a service
