12V directly to the Fiber box thingy.
12V directly to the Airtie (Wifi Access point)
    12V - 9V DC-DC regulator for Router
    8A (4 x USB) DC-DC regulator for the 2 x raspberry Pi's

I used the cables that came with the devices, cut off the power supplies (left some cable for joining if ever needed). DC-DC for the router was moded inline and heat shrink wrapped.

Voltage on battery after 2 hours loadshedding is @ 12.6V, so plenty left for longer outages.

Good solution. Pity there is not a way to power a laptop as well for the duration of loadshedding.

Marc - How do I connect the battery to the router. Router has standard 3.5mm? power cord.

Same idea but takes one 18 AH battery. I was thinking along the same lines with the smaller version, just adding USB power to the box for charging devices. That would be a very compact and flexible backup solution.

Not fast charging, but with the capacity of a 9 or 18 AH battery just for comms, I think it will be enough to get through the worst load shedding.

How long is your loadshedding? Laptop should easily last that long.

I dont have fibre at home but rather Vodacom lte worked well for me during power cuts using a laptop and a 32inch tv that I converted to 12v (most led TV's run on 12 to 18v) for many years but now I loose signal after 2 hours , looks like vodacom are not upgrading their back up systems,
Does fibre run well during these power cuts?

Yes. It appears to be better backed up than the mobile networks are.
I have not lost my fibre network yet..

The Power pack I bought (see earlier posts) lasted precisely 4 hours.
Was fully charged at the start. Not quite enough for 2 movies....
    Router was a Huawei 618.

    The ultimate solution!
I had a 1000W at one stage but it was not powerful enough for what I wanted to use it for.
    2000W sounds ideal.
Maybe you need a bank of batteries?

    Any suggestions?

How about this mini UPS I see it has a 18650 lithium ion battery. Lasts 5 hours.

Would a power bank ie Romoss etc handle it?

This powerbank support laptops. On the side is a button that adjust output voltage from 12/15/19 i think. Comes with different adapters.

One can't stream Netflix movies without a router to access the net.
And a router during load shed requires power.

The little power pack is working well for me.....

After doing a earlier test with the B315 router this device game me 8.5 hours. Yesterday I tested it on the B618 and got 4.5 hours. I do belief it is quite good going as I suspect it only has 4 x 18650 batteries inside.
