    Default Hankook Dynapro ATM RF10

    Hi Guys,

As the tyre in the heading why are these tyres so little talked about, I went through four pages back in the tyre section and still couldnt find much information on them?

    Are they any good?

Anyone own a set that can give some feedback on them?

What are they like in comparison to the other brands price and quality-wise?

I saw some in TWT the other day and they look great!

    Thanks.

They are good tyres in general but they are very very weak in the sidewall department so if you are doing lots of gravel or off-road driving then donít get them.

Got them on 2 of my vehicles. Never had sidewall damage. Only 1 tread puncture.

They also carry a 90 000 km warranty, what other brand does that, I've had a set on my D4D now for a year and very happy with it. At 10k for a set in comparison with other leading brands, it's a winner

I currently have a set on my Pajero. Done about 80000 km and can do at least another 10000. Only one puncture so far due to a 15cm piece of round bar. I don't do a lot of off roading, probably 100km/month max. So far so good.

Great A/T tyre - you wont regret buying a set of these. I had them back when on my Terrano and performed very well on rocky mountainous trails, and gives high mileage.

They have become a bit pricey though.

Done around 20 000 kms on mine now including a lot of off road driving as I live in Moz. No problems whatsoever and very good in the wet also.

    I have had 2 sets.

First set was on our Colt. I didn't know much back then. Did loads of trails and holidays and they still look great.

So I fitted another set to my Ranger. These wore fast and we're taking damage to the sidewall. I recently just took them off and fitted MTs.

Out of interest I went and took a look at the Colts tyre and it's a LT spec Hankook. The ones in my Ranger didn't say that and as a result is much softer. I was t even aware there were different specs....

I will take some pics in the morning.

It's only a mileage guarantee. But you have to do alignment every 10000km. If it gets damaged you're on your own. With the Goodyear Adventure you get damage guarantee if you buy from HQ

If you get them, make sure you go for the LT spec. Those are stronger and seem to last better.
As you can see, opinions on this tyre are very polarised and I guess this is due to the difference in LT spec vs the P rated version.
Hankook used to be a cheaper option, but a couple of years ago they matched their prices to the more premium market and since then it got quiet around that tyre here.

Also, this tyre has been on the market for so long, nothing new to say anymore. Maybe use the search function, you will get lots of results.

I agree with the LT option. Although most tyre guys don't seem to know about it.

The normal ones are great for tar and gravel. But in trails they take a hammering. Still a good tyre if the price is right. Otherwise a more modern tyre is better.

I just found the date when I bought the ones on the Colt. 16 Oct 2012. The car doesn't do much driving anymore but I will show you some pics of when bought to now. Will also try work out mileage.

6 sets used on 4 different D4's .. lowest km's was 73k only because I was going on a 12,000km 7 week trip. The rest all above 80k. Used in Bots, Nam, Zim & Zambia no issues.
2 sets of the MT's on my Defender 130 .. brilliant tyres, quiet, hard wearing and not overly aggressive. Both tyres are now in the expensive bracket.

Thanks for all the nice reviews, so it sounds like with the LT'S there won't be too many issues!

Oreo was that with LT spec?

    I had a set.

Lost one driving gravel roads, and a few months later 2 within 1km 4x4ing. All sidewalls.

Will not use them again, switched to MT's

Never had any sidewall trouble, over 100 000 km on the best and worst Namibian gravel roads over 3 years. Never once had a puncture.

Great tyres, had 6 sets on various vehicles over the last 7-8 years and ironically, my only puncture was on the N1 after hitting a piece of iron on the road.

They also have a 90 000km warranty. On 4 of the sets i had they reached 85 000km and still had 10-15% tread left on the tyres.

    I would recommend them.
