    Default Harties day trip

We (SWAMBO, me and mini me) are looking to do a day trip to Harties from Pretoria. We have already been over the dam wall etc. We are not necessarily looking at walking with the elephants or running with the cheetahs. I enjoy a craft beer, SWAMBO a nice market or somewhere with a view to sit and mini me is fine if there is a play area or pool. What would you recommend?

What ever you do, don't go to Pretville, such a waste of money!

Dozi's farm is next to Pretville if you like live music.
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.

That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Let people say what they want about Harties, I think it's beautiful there. Take the cable car and have a drink at the top. Chameleon Village is a massive arts and crafts market where some bargains can be had but be prepared to haggle and don't let the sellers intimidate you. Have some craft beers at the leafy restaurant section next door. The zoo has a lovely 'jungle' feel to it and has an impressive variety of animals.

Try visiting Leopard Lodge on R560 opposite Magalies Park. Fantastic view from lawns below restaurant, Devil's Peak craft beer on tap and does have swimming pool.

Chameleon Village for the African Art rubbish.

Harties Market for the cottage kitch rubbish.

Baardman Brouerij or Aviators for some beer, maybe Iron Throne next to the cableway at a pinch, and Upperdeck at Damdoryn for a decent cheap meal, they have Hoegarden and Castle Tank Beer on tap.

Silver Orange and Almost Orange (same venue, round the back, worth a visit)

Also a new roadhouse between Village Mall and MBT garage.

For a bit of kommin, try Fishermens Deck or if you are adventurous, Sante Fe.
