    Default Using a Hi-Lift Jack as a winch - a complete guide

More than 10 years ago I stumbled onto an eleven page with explanatory photos article on using a Hi-Lift Jack as a winch. The article was produced by TheSani, and first appeared in July 2005 in the Nissan 4x4 forum.

I have subsequently without any success tried to access the article, of which the ORL is http://www.nissan4x4.co.za/GH_PrintF...?HID=27&CATID= .

Fortunately I made a hard copy of it at the time. However, the pictures did not print very pretty.

Be that as it may, I thought this article should be very informative. It hails from the days before the Hi-Lift Mate.

At the time I got myself all the paraphernalia involved, and found it to be a very usefull addition to one's recovery equipment even though it adds a bit of weight.

With the chain and shackles/clevis grab hooks being of high quality it was a bit pricy, but peanuts compared to a winch.

Can you scan in the document?

I have some documentation from Hilift but have yet to try it.
