Default Advice please - 2010 Land Cruiser Prado 150 series

    Hi there all,
Please may I ask for your advice on what to look out for and what to expect from a 2010 150 series Prado with +-150,000km? A good buy from a maintenance needed perspective and reliability going forward? Yes full service history from Toyota also.
Your advices will be greatly appreciated, thank you

    Petrol or diesel?
Diesel, need to check injector values and egr will probably be needing cleanup at around now-200kkm.Diesel gets its T-Belt at 150 000 (not pricey tho R3kish)
Good idea to change the "sealed for life" gearbox oil and it's filter, use genuine oil and filter.
VX may start hanging to the right with KDSS

    Lekker cars tho

How is it on maintenance? Cost and how frequent? More like looking at how long am I going to have this vehicle keeping me happy without bankrupting me
What is meant by “VX may start hanging to the right with KDSS”?

+-R370k, is high’ish (most going for about R399k)
    Private sales could be less.
    Is that an okay price?

Have you managed to shop around for the shocks? Approximate cost?

I paid R278k. Bought from dealer. Have not had the time to shop around, but I believe that Toyota wants 30k for the oem shocks.

R278k for a Vx petrol or diesel with 158km seems a very good price. What year?

    Good price.
Checkout the aftermarket shocks, upgrades to the OEM ones and most likely better priced.
I had the 120 series 4.0 V6. Hope it’s not a daily use vehicle, that fuel consumption will take the clothes off your back. But that power on tap is very addictive 😁
Enjoy it and wish you all safe mileage :-)
