Default What's it worth? Toyota Prado vx kzj95 2001

Been mulling with the thought of getting something a bit newer so want to try get an idea of what I could get for my vehicle.
(Will possibly pull an extra or 2 off the vehicle such as the madman gauge and drawer system...but depends on what vehicle I end up looking at).

I've really loved this vehicle and spent a LOT on getting it to where it is now.
    It is overland ready.
    Just pack up and go!

The vehicle is in great condition.
Interior is brilliant (1 small tear in the carpet near the clutch pedal)

Hahaha yea we buy cars offered like R70k but they must get f*&%ed.

Book value as per my insurance is about R112k iirc.
Vehicle is insured for about R180k due to extras

Just wondering what I can realistically get out of it.

Truly believe it is one of very few in such good mechanical condition.

Thinking if we buy cars could offer R70k they'd probably sell it close to R100k and their cars are always cheap.

Wouldn't even let it go for R100k.

All the 90 series I've seen online for about 100k look like they're in pretty bad condition, high mileage and no extras...
but times are tough so will see

book value is far above that.

you will only get book value if you trade in on something brand new.

With regards to the extra's you hardly ever get back the value that what was put in. Most dealers offer more for stock standard that something that has been modified.
Modifying a vehicle for off road is something that relies on personal preference.

I recon R 100k is a good starting point, but between 70- 80 is what reality is.

Yeah, biggest problem is that, based on the year, banks will not provide finance for the vehicle, which cuts down on possible buyers by maybe 90%? So, you'd be looking for a (fairly) wealthy buyer, who can maybe afford a new Prado, but just really wants a 95. Those buyers are there, but it's not going to be a mainstream vehicle sale, so just be prepared to wait a while to find the right buyer.

I had a 2000 V6 model and it was well kitted and insured for 230K. Accident wrote it of and had to battle to get the extras paid out to value.

If you want to sell, strip it down on the removable things, sell them loose and then resell the vehicle in semi modded state for about 130/140. But remember that you will wait a long time for it to sell at that price.

I have a 2010 prado tx V6, well kitted (ARB, IPF,EFS,Takla, drawers, the list goes on) has 150 000 accident free KM's on it and I've owned it for last 8+ years. I had recent offers (like last week)at R235k on it (book is R317k) , I decided to keep it.

Make your price, advertise it, wait for the right person, hopefully you not pressed to sell, those guys must loose an absolute fortune, I just don't want to deal with all the scammers you get pvt selling vehicles.

I bought a one owner FSH Prado 120 V6 with 174000 km, 2005 model last week for R100k. Stock standard though but still. Over R100k you start entering 120 territory. So you will struggle over R100k and you kilos are high.

Did you eventually have the extras paid out?

I'm in no rush to sell.
It's just a thought at the moment.
Would probably only sell it for R130k if I decide to sell and find something I'd like to replace it with

I get that I'll definitely get a decent amount less than 100k if trying to sell quickly.

In no rush to sell and not looking to sell anytime soon.

I have faith that there are enthusiasts out there that will pay for a kitted out vehicle which won't require any heavy maintenance in the near future.
Still going to keep driving this vehicle for a while.

Couldn't live with myself if I sold this vehicle for 80k.

But if there is anyone with a diesel 80 series that would consider a trade you should give me a shout

A lot of car for that money, but R130k? Without seeing it, like previously said I fear you pushing it too close to the 120 (and best Prado's ever made) territory and you'll probably not sell, or if you do it'd be someone buying with their heart not head.....but those guys I suppose are out there.
