Vetgat Toere regret to announce a delay on trip report part 7, the final push. This due to the late arrival of pictures.

The delay is further compounded by constrained service on our ADSL link, a break down in mission critical infrastructure necessitating us to expend huge sums of money to get an alternative in place and the ongoing struggle to find good staff to take over kitchen duties while keyboard activities take place.

Rest assured we are doing all in our power to address the situation, a task team has been formed, stakeholders are being consulted and we fully exact normal service to be resumed in the fullness of time.

In the mean time, here's a repeat...

And finally, the Toere comes to an end. At least for one of us, the lucky ones get to head off to Mabua.

End of Toere images compliments of Chris. Nice shots Chris.

I've a bunch of videos to start loading to Youtube now. Will post links when they're available.

Only now just read your posts Keith! Great trip and thanks for the nice report.... we did Polentswa and the trail this year May with Pat, (PatnWolf on this forum).... and went to Swartpan.....and some of the pans at KD2 outside the park... to be honest I had some trouble passing a number of dunes during the trail, while Pat sailed through... fond memories, love to go back sometime in the future....

Looking forward to the next installments....

Rik, no, no Browne's this trip although my "friends" said that on the Friday when I was searching Upington for a filler cap they saw one at Cubtjie Quap. Still haven't seen the pics though so for now its being treated as a very suspicious sighting Also good to hear that we weren't the only ones that battled. Pat&Wolf come from a sandy part of the world so he has a distinctly unfair advantage over most. Me I have no excuse.

The brothers at Polentswa Waterhole. Very impressive males these two

Hmm seems like only one video per post. Will post the others in separate posts.

Dirk, if I'm transgressing the rules shoot me

Some videos to follow of the dunes and the mess, oops, exemplary manner in which various Toere(ists) made of them.

I should say that the director of these videos clearly hasn't read the trip report. The dunes were a heck of lot bigger, tougher and all round intimidating than he has made them out to be in the videos. Artistic license taken to the extreme!

The next Toere will be looking for a new video operator! Interested parties, please send your cv to ...

But first a little humour. Its been a long day out here on the Wes Kus. Would you believe I managed to find a live circuit in a wall while drilling a real small hole! Thank goodness for earth leakage trip switches

Keith, just a question from the ignorant: How do you add / edit the captions / text on your video?
Are there a limited number of characters?
I got to read through your excellently written and entertaining reports this morning - made me want to go back there again fo sho!
    Thank you.
