Default Battery Charger for 2 x 105ah Deep Cycle Batteries

    Hi All

    I have 2 x 105ah Deep Cycle Batteries in my trailer (Marine &RV E-Nex XDC31 MF) 3 years old.

I have an HCDP MK4 panel that is supposed to keep them charged.

Lately I have been battling to keep my NL 90L going all night (-4 Freezer and 0 Fridge). The fridge is set to cut out at 11v which I can confirm with the battery monitor it shows 11v. So it goes from 12.6v to 11v overnight. Upon testing the draw from the fridge it is exactly what the specs says. It draws between 2-3 amps.
Testing my batteries 12 hrs after charging them separately and they are at rest with no loads they read 12.5 and 12.6. Then when tested the next day they read 12.3 and 12.4. This tells me they are not holding charge.

I suspect two things A. My batteries are on their way out and B. The HCDP panel is not able to charge 2 batteries in parallel effectively.

    Some questions if I may.
Would it help putting them through a recondition process on the Ctek MX10 to try and restore them?
Or should I just replace them?

    Regards
    David

That restore function seldom works. It is a last resort for when your batteries are REALLY stuffed already. Now, you will only stuff them up.

Seems to me you might with a bit of discipline still get a year or two out of them.

But yes, dont that MK4 units put out 30 amps?

Ths should be more than enough. My D250S does max 20A and this is fine for my 150Ah battery.

So the batteries might be moeg yes.

Thank you for all the comments. I will attempt to recover the batteries first or just use them for something else.

Please give feedback here if you did manage to salvage them.
