HI all
My SCV finally looks like its given in after intermitently messing around for the last 2 years. (it could literally be 6 months to a year without symptoms)
Vehicle is 2010 Pajero Sport 3.2 (195000 km)
1. has anyone recentlty bought on in the Centurion/ Midrand area?
2. How much did you pay? I want to get it from Nissan if possible as I believe Mitsubishi prices are bad.
3. the markings on mine only share the 4 digits (0360) with data shared by Whistler and are different from that shown by Riaan Van Wyk. (see attached)
Any advise will be greatfully received..

OP, from what I recall, the Bosch guys told me there are two versions of the SCV. I know because they ordered the wrong one for my car.

HI all
Thankyou all for the responses. I will try the Nissan part (A6860-VM09A) as it seems to be the correct one.

Just keep in mind, the flow rate is different, the Nissan's has a clockwise rotation pump, en die Mitsubishi an anticlockwise rotation pump. Might not be bigg issue...just saying
Finally decided to clean / polish my SCV after my Triton died on me on the highway(stopped- pumped the filter pump- and drove home)
The sound of the the engine hinting was quite prominent.
Removed the SCV, polished the plunjer and turned the SCV with 180 degrees-( saw that on youtube that this also helps.)
Engine feels like a new one- super smooth and starts with the first turn.
Interesting,
Could you please share the youtube link?
I have noticed recently my engine on cold idle sounds like it is starving and idles in an almost stuttered rhythm.
This is not frequent but does happen time to time.
Once it warms up it runs as usual.
No engine light and no error on my OBD reader.
I have recently changed the fuel filter, air filter etc.
Could this be SCV related or what would the guru's say?

The 180 degree rotation did not work for me, maybe it depends on the wear pattern, but I suspect it's the clean and polish that's the important thing.
We did have idling issues which were 100% sorted with the SCV replacement, but it hasn't improved the starting characteristics (still takes 4 or 5 rotations).
Never had any faults logged on the ECU and multiple workshops could not diagnose any problem with the SCV. In the end I told them to go ahead and replace the SCV anyway, just so that we can at least eliminate it as a potential cause of our problems.
Here's a couple of Youtube links (not sure if they mention the 180 degree thing):

Me thinks your starting problem is glowplugs ... also, switch on the ignition, once the engine light switches off, wait another second or two, you will hear a tick / click sound bottom left near the passenger footwell, then only turn. That worked for my mate while he was waiting for new glowplugs.
My money is on the starter or battery. Glow plugs last a very long time on these cars. My dad's 3.2 recently starting swinging slowly after 16 years and almost 400k km. It was the starter. Alternatively, slow starting is often actually due to bad battery or an incorrect spec battery. 650cr is the one used on the 3.2. I think it requires 90amp starting power.
RE the SCV issue. Its not really diagnosable via a computer unless you take all the fuel delivery values and put them in an excel sheet and identify any erratic outliers away from the normal distribution (idle). The symptoms are typically surging, low power on pull away or an inability to rev up past 3000rpm.
Just a side note. Any of you with older 3.2's or 2.5's get your indy to place some lubricant at the glow plugs. Once they get older it becomes impossible to get them out and if you break one off well then its engine out so be very careful when fiddling there. When they replaced the starter on my dad's car the chief mech walked in immediately stopped them when he saw they were struggling to remove the glow plugs. Luckily they did not break one off other wise that untouched motor would now be very touched.
Cheers.
I bought a SCV online on Amazon and imported it. Cost was around R2500 all included. Shipping and import was R560 and the part was just under R2000
This was one recommend for Nissan, Misubishi, etc. The part looked exactly like the one I replaced. Same resistance. Fuel consumption improved sine replacement

I actually ordered a SCV from Wish about 2 years back for under R500 shipped, I fitted it and no issues since then. The best part of it was the fact that it came packed in a Denso box and everything was nicely sealed.
