    bringing back an oldie.

FIL wants to install on Buswakka sundowner 2

Who has ewiks installed on their off road caravans?
Who did the DIY and was it as easy as on the website or should one rather install with a installer.

Reason for second question, BW quote R25k for this, however the movers are R14k, and R10k for install seems a bit steep as kit includes everything needed

I installed an EWICKS on a Companion. It's a simple job. Just a bit of drilling and connecting some wires etc. You can do it on a weekend with ease

I had on my baobab. Brilliant movers. Paid R16l installed and they came to me. I see you are in the Cape. Look for a local ewiks dealer. That 10k from BW is ridiculous! Takes 2 hours max.

My father in law recently had his installed in DBN.

I had a look under the caravan and it seems simple enough to do DIY. But he is over 60 with a recent knee replacement, he just paid to have it installed.

    10k is ver expensive.
Ask for the stone guards and motor protectors and how much the full remote will cost.

based on the website I have seen, I would probably justify R3k max install.

    Ja for sure.

Website says only drill 4 holes and bolt on.

Dwayne, I fitted Ewiks to my Sundowner in May last year, it is a relatively simple job. Mine was the first Sundowner to be done by Ewiks, so there was initially some backwards and forwards getting the brackets designed correctly, Kyle was very helpful.

My main reason for fitting was that I have to turn my SD through 90 degs in my garage, but it has got me out of a couple of tight spots.

If you want to drive all the way to Simon's Town to have a look you are more than welcome. SD is in Worcester at the moment for some mods but should be back next week.

I saw movers fitted on a Chobe and saw they were a serious impediment to exit angle. Looked Like they halved the clearance behind the wheels. That and the added weight convinced me to rather go to gym and have that extra cheeseburger to give me a lower centre of gravity
