The TDV6 engine is a Ford engine.

    Fords often burn.

Is this some type of cross-contamination?

Vehicle fire can happy to any vehicle out there. One of the things I do not wish anybody.

With Cats fitted to almost every 4x4 one needs to take extra care. Every year during the dry season many 4x4`s are lost due to fires in our area. I know of vehicles going up in flames after a quick innocent stop next to the road were the Cats set the dry grass underneath the vehicle alight. Think that the Disco in the OP could have fell victim of a grass fire.

What a stupid comment! None of the burning Disco's posted here were posted by there owners. If a Toyota burns at the side of the road and someone else takes a photo and posts it somewhere, how can the owner lie about it? Really think before you post such utter rubbish!

My Cruiser is very unreliable, the damn thing canít drive past a fuel station.
I tried setting it alight but with no fuel, it wouldnít burn!!!
Also has a bloody mind of itís own when it sees taxiís.
What to do!! Nobody wants to buy old unreliable thirsty cruisers.

I think my joke was missed, next time I will add the smiley face

I drive a cruiser and it has been said before that us Toyota drivers lie about the reliability of our vehicles, so I just extended it to the combustibility of them too

I share your pain, good thing there is never any fuel in them otherwise they would also burn out next to the road, possibly a built in self preservation function, those Japs are clever and forward thinking folk.

Not sure if this post adds fuel to the fire. The discos bonnet does seem to vaporise in the fires. Presumably it's a safety measure where they've introduced plastic bonnets for owners beating their heads off them in frustration.
