Why don't Cruisers ever break? Because their owners lie about it....

Have you ever spend some time in workshops?

Jy moet sien hoe staan die Cruisers daar.

    They also overheat.

They break drive trains - in fact quite a bit more than Landy's.

They are bloody expensive to repair.

Owners denies that their cars breaks, so the knowledge base on Cruisers is very small.

With Landies, we share our experiences.

I was shocked when I saw the number of drive train issues on the Aussie 4WD Action series

thank goodness someone has finally said it. Itís so flippen strange how much of a taboo it is in Toyota circles to discuss breakdowns.

those of us who use them as a tool know their weaknesses, and there are many.... but lifestyle owners simply just deny everything. I think they make them sign a Non Disclosure agreement together with the 96 month HP agreement

Ill post it here as well..

I don't understand why people with vehicles of another brand feel this deep desire to tell Landy jokes to Landy owners.

Really guys we know them ALL we even made up 90% of the Landy Jokes. And yes we know they leak oil, but to have this told to us by a blue oval badge driver is rather funny because they also leak oil.

I still want to check a Toyota owners manual, because I am 99% sure the last 2 pages of the manual consists of Landy jokes you can tell yourself and to Landy owners to make yourself feel better because your vehicle will never have Land Rover heritage and will never even come close to a real Camel Trophy challenge and was never able to conquer Africa when many of us were just an itch in our fathers pants

I must be very confused. I love Landies, and I love Cruisers.... every now and then I like a pajero, but thatís about the end of it.

I have had amazing experiences with cruisers and with Landies, but I am admittedly biased towards the green oval. Somehow every time I need to spend my own money on a car, itís another Land Rover. I somehow always use someone else money to buy cruisers.....

the jokes around the campfire are also all good and well, especially when itís a campfire deep in the bush and and we have all been enjoying our 4x4s and getting stuck and helping each other out.

but itís reaching a point on the forum now where one canít mention Land Rover without there being a slurry of slide remarks and bad jokes. All I can think is it must be a jealousy thing.... jealous of what I am not sure.

the jokes are fun because there mostly are responses to feed the entertainment, and the joke then keeps on giving.
hopefully this will not stop the landy guys from responding in future now
(hell they keep on buying landies so I suppose we are safe)

For the next time someone wants to talk "shyte" about Land Rovers:

A Toyota owner was seated next to a Landrover owner on an airplane and he turned to him and said....

" Do you want to talk? Flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with fellow passenger."

The Landrover owner , who had just started reading his book, replied to the total stranger.....

"What would you like to talk about?"

"Oh I don't know," said the Toyota owner.

"How about why Landrovers leaks oil.... or why Landrovers brakes cranks...or why Landrovers speedo's is way out?"

"Ok," he said. "Those could be interesting topics but let me ask You a question first."

"A horse , a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff-grass.

Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, but a horse produces clumps.

Why do you suppose that is?"

The Toyota owner, visibly surprised by the Landrover owner's intelligence......

Thinks about it and says, "Hmmmmmmmm, I have no idea."

To which the Landrover owner replies,

"Do you really feel qualified to discuss Landrovers.....

    When you don't know "shyte""

It just depends on what works for you.
Let me tell you I have a fleet of 150 cruisers here in Congo - open cast mine - worst , harsh , dust , muddy conditions ever and the local drivers absolutely brutalise them- never had an engine fail, never a snapped sideshaft or gearbox or tcase.
A few front Diffs and the odd cv.
    Average age 4 years,average mileage 150k
They brought 2 discos here , 4 months they were in the scrap yard.
If a cruiser is a 10 for reliability and toughness then a Disco is a -5.
